HISTORY OF TURKS ... Owner, Barnabas Turk emigrated from Hungary to the United States in 1971. He brought with him the Old World know how for growing plants. He started the greenhouse business, with the help of his family in 1978. Wife Claudia joined in 1980. Longtime customers will also remember faithful Black Lab, Hector. As the business grew so did the family. Daughter Anna was born in 1981, followed by son Henrik in 1984, and son Albert in 1986. The business went from 3,000 sq. ft. under cover in 1978 to over an acre at the present time. After growing up surrounded by flowers, Anna has decided to join her parents and make the greenhouse business her career. She will continue to maintain the high standards set by her parents. |
